What is the ruling on a man swearing to his wife that he will not have intercourse with her?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Abu Layla : Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Abu Layla : What is the ruling on a man who swore to his wife and said, “I swear by divorce, I will not approach you,” meaning he will not have intercourse with her, and in the same session he said to her, “I swear by Allah, I will not have intercourse with you”?

The Shaykh : And then he had intercourse with her?
Abu Layla : Or is he still waiting, waiting, my teacher?

The Shaykh : Meaning he is waiting; he wants to have intercourse with her.
Abu Layla : Yes, exactly.

The Shaykh : Meaning, if he had had intercourse with her, he would have to pay the expiation for an oath, which is feeding ten poor people.
Abu Layla : Is that all, my Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Feeding ten poor people.
Abu Layla : May Allah reward you with good, and peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And beware of it. And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
