Is it permissible to join these blocs in parliamentary councils and organizations?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for these blocs to enter the Council of the Nation?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible.

The questioner : We heard, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Because the naming of this Council of the Nation is Islamic, and it is the one that rules by what Allah has legislated. Or it is not the Nation. The answer in that case is based on this detail: if it does not rule by the Shari'ah of Allah, then it is not permissible to join such a council, because it does not represent the Muslim community.

The questioner : We heard that you said, O Shaykh: It is permissible, but with conditions.

The Shaykh : No, it is not permissible. If these conditions are to be theoretical and not practical, then do you remember what the conditions are that reached you from me?

The questioner : The first condition is that a person preserves himself.

The Shaykh : And is this possible?

The questioner : I have not tried it.

The Shaykh : May Allah will that you do not try it—(the Shaykh, may Allah have mercy on him, laughs)—okay.

The questioner : I mean, these conditions are not possible.

The Shaykh : They cannot be realized. And we see many people who had a starting point in their lives, at least in their appearance, in their clothing, in their beards. When they enter that council, their appearance changes and transforms. Of course, they justify it and rationalize it, saying that this is a matter of keeping up with the times. But it is established for us that the appearance is the title of the inner state, and that the rectitude of the inner state is linked to the rectitude of the appearance. So if a person begins to corrupt his appearance by contradicting his Shari'ah, that is evidence that corruption has seeped into the inner state. Among the proofs of this is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) in the well-known hadith of al-Nu'man ibn Bashir, in which it is said:
Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart. ألا وإنّ في الجسد مضغة إذا صلحت صلح الجسد كلّه وإذا فسدت فسد الجسد كلّه ألا وهي القلب
Sahih al-Bukhari 52
We have seen people who entered parliament in Arab Islamic clothing, then after a few days they changed their clothing and changed their attire. So is this evidence of corruption or rectitude? In the previous speech, there is an example, because the one who enters today the societies in which corruption prevails, he is the one who is corrupted, instead of rectifying others, my brother.
