If a man gives his wife gold as a bridal gift from forbidden wealth, what is the ruling on this bridal gift after it has transferred to her? And what is the ruling on selling gold in this era?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Huwaini: Our Shaykh, there is a man who used to work in a hair salon

The Shaykh: He worked
Al-Huwaini: in a women's hair salon, so he amassed a large fortune and built a building with it

The Shaykh : What Allah willed.
Al-Huwaini: and bought shops and the like. When he learned the Islamic ruling, he left the hair salon, but...

The Shaykh: he did not leave its effects behind.
Al-Huwaini: He did not leave its effects behind. I mean, he was in a swamp, he got out, but he did not clean himself. So now he is opening a gold shop

The Shaykh: a gold shop
Al-Huwaini: He wants to hand over the hair salon to open the gold shop, but with the funds...

The Shaykh: they are, they are.
Al-Huwaini: they are, they are. So he also married with these funds and gave his wife gold as a bridal gift. So the question here is: is the gold he gave as a bridal gift to his wife from that wealth as it is, or did it become lawful because it became the wife's property? That is the question.

The Shaykh: If this is the question, then this bridal gift is lawful for the wife, because it transferred to her through a lawful means, such as inheritance, for example. But I see that the man has not yet purified himself. First, because he did not get rid of the forbidden wealth, and second, because he entered into the forbidden sale, which is gold as well. So it is as if he was in a problem and fell into another problem.
Al-Huwaini: Is it not permissible?

The Shaykh: It is not permissible, because engaging in the sale of gold with debts is forbidden... to fall into usury, without a doubt, especially due to the rise and fall of paper currencies, and then selling gold for more than its value if it is manufactured. These are known problems among all goldsmiths and gold traders. Therefore, he is advised, just as he left the previous profession, to leave the subsequent profession, and to get rid of all the forbidden wealth, and to be content if he has even a little lawful wealth. Then, our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, as came in the authentic hadith that we mentioned in the context of discussing the hadith:
Do not fast on Saturdays apart from days when you are obliged to fast لاتصوموا يوم السبت إلا فيما افترض عليكم
Sunan Ibn Majah 1726Hasan (Darussalam)
, which is His saying, peace and blessings be upon him:
Whoever leaves something for Allah, Allah will replace it with something better من ترك شيئا لله عوضه الله خيرا منه
. This is my advice to this man.
