Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Huwaini: Please, our Shaykh, when you were...

The Shaykh : When I was a professor at the Islamic University, I got into my car with some of my fellow professors, and I headed toward Khaybar. I was a young, strong, and energetic man at the time. It was my habit to recite the Noble Qur'an while driving the car, as they say in our region of Sham, "the inner self is revealed to me." I began reading from Surat Yusuf, and just as I was about to reach this verse,
But Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful." فالله خيرٌ حافظاً وهو أرحم الراحمين
[Yusuf 12:64]
there was a steep incline on the road, a paved road, followed by a slight descent. Suddenly, I was surprised to find that rocks from the mountain overlooking the road, and boulders, had collapsed onto the road. We did not notice them because they fell upon us suddenly. When I saw this, I hit the brake, which they call the "faramil" in our dialect; what is it called in Arabic?
Al-Huwaini: The brake.

The Shaykh : The brake. I tried to get past the rocks as best I could, and I was saying, having reached this verse:
But Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful." فالله خيرٌ حافظاً وهو أرحم الراحمين
[Yusuf 12:64]
. Praise be to Allah, nothing happened to us except that the tire was shredded by some of the scattered rocks. We said that was a favor from Allah upon us and upon people. Now, our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has made the way easy for us to enter without obstruction, for my son, and praise be to Allah.
Al-Huwaini: An opportunity, our Shaykh, to hear some life experiences that contain lessons. This is suitable for a translation. The Shaykh

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.
Al-Huwaini: May Allah reward you with good. The first time you were recorded with us, in the translation, this section of things that happen in life is very important for people to read. So, an opportunity, if Allah wills, may your eminence remember...

The Shaykh : On this occasion...
Al-Huwaini: A moment, our Shaykh, I... finished, I close.
