Discussion of the hadith (Religion is sincere advice).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And it is his saying (peace be upon him), as in Sahih Muslim:
Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah?' he said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common folk الدين النصيحة الدين النصيحة الدين النصيحة قالوا لمن يا رسول الله قال لله و لكتابه و لرسوله و للأئمة المسلمين و عامتهم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam)
I used to say that it is true that good conduct has a weight in Islam, but it is not only in the material dealings of people with one another. The matter is much broader than that, such that it includes dealing with people in the best manner. It is his saying (peace be upon him) which I mentioned just now:
A man who is known for his good character has the same degree as someone who stands at night in prayer إن الرجل ليدرك بحسن خلقه درجة قائم الليل صائم النار
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 14:26
A man who is known for his good character has the same degree as someone who stands at night in prayer إن الرجل ليدرك بحسن خلقه درجة قائم الليل صائم النار
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 14:26
And what prompted me to mention this hadith is that our brother Zakariyya mentioned to us that he is a Muslim, may Allah reward him with good... that he should save himself and emigrate from that country to a Muslim country. And it was said that there they receive their rights in full, perhaps in a better state than the situation in Muslim countries, or at least in some of them. So I said that these rights which they receive do not compensate for the loss they suffer by residing in a land of disbelief.
