Ibrahim Shuqqa’s welcome to the professors of Konya University.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
An academic meeting with the professors of Konya University in Turkey.

The questioner: Praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whoever He misguides, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows, the truest speech is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are those that are newly invented, and every newly invented matter is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. O you who have come to us from the lands of Islam that preserved Islam for a time in history, eight centuries during which its banner was raised in the two horizons, and it extended over the horizons of the world, carrying it as a call, a message, knowledge, jurisprudence, and biography, reviving the memories of the predecessors and proceeding along the path of the present and the future, until Allah (Mighty and Majestic) willed, due to the sins the Ummah had committed, the transgressions it had perpetrated, and the sins it had brought upon itself, that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) would permit these lands to rise again, and that the signs of light would appear on the horizons of the world, and that they would remind themselves of what they had preserved and what they had been before. It is not strange for you, nor for the Ummah as a whole, that this conquest which occurred for these lands, achieved by the predecessors, and then renewed, is even that which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) foretold when one of his Companions asked him: “Which of the two cities will be conquered first, O Messenger of Allah? Constantinople or Rome?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Constantinople first. القسطنطينية أولا
. And it was conquered, and those who plot against Islam and its people wanted to make it a secular, disbelieving country with no connection to Islam, Muslims, or Arabness. But Allah (Mighty and Majestic) refuses except to complete His light, to revive the conquest anew therein, and to remind the present people of it of the Islamic culture they were given and of the light and guidance that Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) opened for them, so that they may renew the past that has passed and remind the Ummah as well of what it must connect with, both near and far, so that they may unite on one heart and restore the glory of Islam anew, if Allah wills. So welcome, O honorable professors. Welcome to the home of a brother of yours who has longed to meet people like you. And Allah has decreed that this meeting be a good one, if Allah wills, especially since the one who illuminates this session is the hadith scholar of Islam in this era, whom, praise be to Allah, He has bestowed upon the Muslims. That is our professor and our Shaykh,The Shaykh : Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani. I do not wish to introduce him to you, for the one who is known does not need to be introduced. It is our right to always remember him in our hearts, in our prayers, in our prostrations, and to pray for him for a long life. The great contribution he has made to the Ummah since half a century of his long life, if Allah wills, is that he gives and does not take. And Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has opened for this Ummah through the call he carried, the call of the righteous Salaf, and through the many works he has presented to the Ummah, which are difficult to enumerate, that you have, and I have no doubt in that, read many of them and benefited yourselves and your students as well. This is a good, blessed opportunity where these intellectuals like you meet the Shaykh of Hadith and the Imam of the Sunnah in this era. It is a precious opportunity that should not be missed, and may it remain in your memories until Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) wills. So welcome to you all, and may Allah greet you. I leave you with our Shaykh so that if you wish to present to him what concerns you or what is on your minds in terms of academic questions, which you find it difficult to get answers to except in his presence, then welcome and may Allah greet you and bless you.

So praise be to Allah, we visited these universities. The Yarmouk University remains for tomorrow, if Allah wills, with a visit and exchange of opinions and ideas between the teachers, and at the same time strengthening the bond between the Turks and the Arabs, meaning, there has been a long severance, a great severance between the two states.

Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you يا أيها الناس إن خلقناكم من ذكر و أنثى و جعلناكم شعوبا و قبائل لتعارفوا إن أكرمكم عند الله أتقاكم
