The Shaykh : Adoption is forbidden in Islam, but many hadiths have come regarding the guardianship of orphans. This is the way out of adoption: that a Muslim takes guardianship of an orphan. It has come in more than one hadith that whoever takes guardianship of an orphan will come on the Day of Resurrection with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Paradise, like these two [fingers]. So guardianship is what one should ... now, on this occasion, since there are many orphans due to the jihad in Afghanistan. We ask Allah to grant them victory over their enemy and to uproot the enemy's power so that they can establish the Muslim state they have long called for and striven to achieve for about ten years.
