Speaking about knowledge and its virtue.

So, our duty today is to gain understanding of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and of what our righteous predecessors, the Companions and those who followed them in excellence, were upon until the Day of Judgment. There is no path to knowing this except through knowledge. And knowledge, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith reported from him: Knowledge is only acquired through learning. No one is born a scholar. Therefore, he (peace be upon him) said: meaning that you must engage in the means that make you a scholar, or at least a student of knowledge. Just as the patient, purified, and praised person is not the one whom Allah has blessed by creating him patient by nature, but rather the one who was created with the opposite disposition, yet he strives against his self to be patient, even though he is not truly patient by nature. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) linked patience to learning, saying: If knowledge is acquired through learning, then it is not permissible for a Muslim to live in a state of ignorance, not caring about seeking knowledge, even through the nearest path that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has legislated for people to lift the darkness of ignorance from them, which is the saying of our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He): [An-Nahl 16:43] So ask those who have knowledge. Asking is, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, the cure for hesitation, which is ignorance. Sunan Abi Dawud 336 Every Muslim should learn what he is obligated to know of the matters of his religion, so that he may meet the Face of his Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) with clarity regarding his Lord. This hadith means that anyone who claims knowledge by guessing, to the point that some exaggerate and say, "My heart has informed me about my Lord," is merely a man whom Satan has led astray without his knowledge, while he knows that he is a misleader and one who leads others astray. For knowledge is not based on mere desire or the claim of having a special connection with Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), whereby he casts knowledge upon him as our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) used to cast it and reveal it to the messengers and prophets before Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). As for our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the messengers ended with him, and all religions and laws ended with him. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Therefore, anyone who claims Islam but does not understand Islam through the path of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), or through another path, such as the affliction that has befallen some Muslims today who claim to be sheikhs, knowing nothing of the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but whose knowledge is their desires and whose knowledge is their lusts, leading people astray without knowledge. We must be aware of correct knowledge so that we may be saved by it, rather than following knowledge that is not correct and does not conform to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The scholars of the Muslims, both the Salaf and the Khalaf, are in agreement that knowledge has no path except these three paths we mentioned: the Book, the Sunnah, and following the Companions. Therefore, one of them said:
"Knowledge is: Allah said, His Messenger said, the Companions said; it is not deception.
"What is knowledge? It has placed you in the foolishness of disagreement between the Messenger and the statement of a jurist."
To the end of what he said. Since the matter is thus, it is not permissible for a Muslim to follow every barker or every one who claims to be a scholar. Knowledge is light, and this knowledge, as you know well, is nothing but "Allah said" and "The Messenger of Allah said." So whoever calls you to what Allah said and what the Messenger of Allah said, that is the one who must be followed. As for those among the Muslims who claim Islam but follow various paths, claiming that the paths leading to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) are as numerous as the breaths of creation, this is a false statement that contradicts the texts of the Book and the Sunnah, especially the previous verse:[Al-An'am 6:153] Whether this caller is calling to an Islam that he understands with his crooked mind, not from the Book of Allah or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, or does not recognize Islam at all, as some of the youth today have been afflicted with, belonging to some parties and some destructive principles, such as communism, for example, and others, it is not permissible for Muslims to be deceived by such people, for what they have from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is better and more lasting.
Knowledge is acquired through learning, and wisdom through being wise.
إنما العلم بالتعلم والحلم بالتحلمKnowledge is only acquired through learning.
إنما العلم بالتعلمKnowledge is acquired through learning, and wisdom through being wise.
إنما العلم بالتعلم والحلم بالتحلمSo ask the people of the message if you do not know.
فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمونThe cure for ignorance is inquiry.
إنما شفاء العي السؤالKnowledge is only acquired through learning.
إنما العلم بالتعلمProphethood and messengership have ceased; there is no messenger or prophet after me.
إن النبوة والرسالة قد انقطعت فلا رسول ولا نبي بعدي"Knowledge is: Allah said, His Messenger said, the Companions said; it is not deception.
"What is knowledge? It has placed you in the foolishness of disagreement between the Messenger and the statement of a jurist."

And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
وأن هذا صراطي مستقيمًا فاتبعوه ولا تتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله
