Is it permissible for a woman to attend weddings that include singing, clapping, and dancing?

Al-Halabi : He saysThe questioner : Is it permissible for a woman to participate in wedding celebrations that include singing, clapping, and dancing, and the like?

The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted said: Those who celebrate in ways that contradict the Shari'ah, whether they are men or women, it is not permissible to sit with them or attend their celebrations; because of this noble verse, and because of the support and approval of these wrongs that comes from participating in and sitting with them; therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim man or woman to sit in these gatherings; yes.
