Is it true that some people say that people must be called to the religion of Allah gradually, and that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began calling people

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Wafiq: There is one question remaining.

The Shaykh: I mean, after this question, do you allow us?
Wafiq: If Allah wills.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner: The question concerns the call to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), to tawhid (the oneness of Allah). I sat with some of the young men who go out with some of the callers, believing that they have a great share of correctness in calling to Allah. So I sat with him and mentioned the verse:
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds. وما أرسلناك إلا رحمة للعالمين
[Al-Anbya 21:107]
I said that from the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for this Ummah (the Muslim community) is that He made us enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. His answer was that this is a calamity, because if you establish the proof...

The Shaykh: Excuse me, so that we understand you or him, his statement: "This is a calamity," what is this?

The questioner: That we enjoin what is right, that we establish the proof against people, because in the case of establishing the proof against people, this becomes a calamity because it is possible that they may disobey.

The Shaykh: Allahu Akbar.

The questioner: So I told him that if he disobeys, the proof has been established against him, and this is what Allah commanded us to do, to establish the proof and forbid; so among his beliefs in the call is that we must be like the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), calling to tawhid (the oneness of Allah), as if we are now addressed with the details of the Islamic religion, which is tawhid, and we do not disapprove of any person if he commits another innovation; because we must educate him, and in the case of education in the mosque, and you are now — he means we are calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with the methodology of evidence — that people are now repelled by you, and you are harsh with people.

The Shaykh :
you would have almost inclined to them a little. لقد كدت تركن إليهم شيئا قليلا
[Al-Isra 17:74]
.

The questioner: He says, if you were on the truth, most of the people would not have opposed you.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed, what Allah willed.

The questioner: So what is the response to that?

The Shaykh: This is the problem, my brother, that we always and forever circle around.

The questioner: And are we, O honorableThe Shaykh : addressed with the details or with the religion in its entirety now, so that if we see a person, we call him to tawhid (the oneness of Allah), such that if we see him committing a major sin or a wrong, we do not tell him, so that in the beginning we educate him, or do we establish the proof against him? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : The meaning of the statement of this man you are referring to is that we are today in the Meccan period, and this is a very dangerous statement. I think that if he is reminded of it, and its danger becomes clear to him, he will retract his false claim; because the meaning of this statement is that if we see a person who does not pray, we leave him and his misguidance, if we see another person committing zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), likewise, drinking khamr (intoxicants), and so on. Why? Because these things are among the forbidden things that were forbidden in the Medinan period; as for the Meccan period, it was indeed a focus of the call on tawhid (the oneness of Allah). I do not think this person’s ignorance and foolishness would reach the point of adhering to this obligation that we impose on him; because the meaning of your statement, O Shaykh (scholar), is that we are now in a situation most resembling the Meccan situation; so we are not obligated with anything except tawhid, and this is kufr (disbelief) that no Muslim on the face of the earth would ever say, this is one thing.
And the second thing: Are they truly carrying out the call to tawhid (the oneness of Allah)? Do they know tawhid? We mentioned briefly earlier, they disapprove of those who seek tawhid if they do not proceed with them, because the problem with them is not to research a topic that causes disagreement among the attendees; and therefore he tells you, if your call were a call of truth, people would not have been repelled by you; and this is evidence from hundreds of evidences of the ignorance of these people; and therefore, when they go out claiming to call in the path of Allah, they have not known the path of Allah to call to it, and as it is said in old examples: "He who lacks a thing cannot give it."
It has come in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The nations were presented to me, and I saw a great blackness on the horizon, so I said: What is this? He said: This is Musa (Moses) and his people عرضت علي الأمم فرأيت في الأفق سوادا عظيما فقلت : ما هذا ، قال : هذا موسى وقومه
meaning the Jews are a very large Ummah (the Muslim community)
So he looked to the other side and saw a greater blackness, and he asked about it, and it was said: This is your Ummah (the Muslim community) فنظر الجانب الآخر فرأى سوادا أعظم فسأل عن ذلك قال : هذه أمتك
so he said, peace be upon him, and here is the point:
Then it was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) along with a group of people, and it was presented to me along with one man and two men, and it was presented to me along with a Prophet who had no one with him. ثم عرض على النبي ومعه الرهط والرهطان , وعرض علي الرجل والرجلان , وعرض علي نبي وليس معه أحد
and all of these are prophets, we mean not like our story, meaning it is permissible for one of us to be ignorant, to learn a few issues and act as a caller, it may be that his style is bad, so instead of bringing people to Islam, the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) applies to him:
"Indeed, among you are those who drive people away." إن منكم لمنفرين
The prophets are protected from such a possibility; so they are correct in their ideas and in their call, and successful in their style; why did these results differ, Musa (peace be upon him) had an Ummah (the Muslim community) that filled the horizon, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) of course had an Ummah (the Muslim community) greater and greater, a prophet with a group and two groups, and a prophet with a man and two men, and a prophet with no one with him; does that mean that the style of these differed and their call differed? Of course not; what is the meaning of the difference in the fruit of the call of these prophets, and their call is one call? The reason is that the land in which they were plowing and planting was not fertile land that does not grow.

The questioner: They say tawhid, tawhid, tawhid, that Allah will not ask us about what is in the Tahawi creed.

The Shaykh: Do you see how it is, this is what we are referring to, you just said...

The questioner: The Meccan period, yes, there are many contradictions.

The Shaykh: I am telling you, and the responsibility is on the narrator I mentioned earlier that before anything else we must call to tawhid, and they do not know tawhid; and now they have contradicted their claim with themselves, they do not call except to things known to people and agreed upon, that you do not commit zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), you do not drink khamr (intoxicants), and so on, yet they tell you do not enjoin what is right and do not forbid what is wrong; we are not permitted to adopt Islam except as a whole that cannot be divided, we are not permitted to adopt Islam except as a whole that cannot be divided with its principles and branches, with its beliefs and rulings, with its behavior and manners; but there is no doubt that Islam is a very wide circle, and we cannot imagine a prophet after our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who encompasses Islam in understanding, conveying, and action like him, this is impossible; but each of the scholars of the Muslims has a share of this call, and it is obligatory (wajib) on him what he has reached of knowledge, first to act upon it, and second to call people to it, otherwise this statement you mentioned is in fact one of the things that is censured in these people, and we advise them to sit in the mosques and study knowledge, understand the Qur'an, and then call people to what they have learned of knowledge; but if they go out like this, not understanding anything of Islam, they are more harmful to Islam than those who do not call to Islam; so we ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to teach us what benefits us, and to guide us to act upon what He has taught us, and to increase us in knowledge; and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
Abu Layla: A word from our brother Muhammad, the same word I have for you, I am tired...

The questioner : Regarding…

The Shaykh: It is not permissible, a copper ring, an iron ring, a gold ring, all are haram (forbidden), other than that of the metals is permissible whether it is precious or cheap; clear?

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh: I told you a comprehensive statement, a copper ring...
