The questioner : This questioner, Ibrahim Abu Hamid from Riyadh, has this question remaining, inquiring about the levels of religion and the pillars of worship at the beginning of this episode?
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. The levels of religion were mentioned in the hadith of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), in which a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with very white clothes and very black hair, whom none of the Companions recognized, and no trace of travel was seen on him. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Islam, faith, and excellence in worship, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed him about each one. Then he asked about the Hour, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed him that he knew nothing about it, when he saidMishkat al-Masabih 741 Then he asked about its signs, meaning its near signs, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned two of them. Then he said (peace and blessings be upon him), "This is Jibril who has come to you to teach you your religion." So religion is Islam, faith, and excellence in worship.
And Islam is testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the prayer, giving zakah, fasting Ramadan, and performing Hajj to the House of Allah the Sacred.
And faith is that the servant believes in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree, its good and its evil.
And excellence in worship is to worship Allah as if one sees His Lord, and if one does not see Him, then Allah the Exalted sees him, and nothing is hidden from Him.
As for the Hour, no one knows it except Allah Mighty and Majestic. So whoever claims to know it is a liar and one who denies the Noble Qur'an, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ahzab 33:63]
As for worship, it has two pillars. The first pillar is sincerity for Allah Mighty and Majestic, and the second pillar is following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). These are two pillars, and at the same time, they are two conditions for the acceptance of worship. So whoever worships Allah the Exalted without sincerity, his worship is rejected. And whoever worships Him with sincerity but not according to the Shari'ah, his worship is rejected. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah reward you.
