The Shaykh’s clarification of the correct meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “We have not neglected in the Book anything.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
We have not neglected in the Register a thing ما فرطنا في الكتاب من شيء
[Al-An'am 6:38]
The Book here is not as you sometimes hear from some contemporary writers, meaning the Qur'an, who want to boast over the other religions with falsehood. Muslims do not need this kind of boasting with falsehood when they say that the Qur'an contains everything mentioned in it.
We have not neglected in the Register a thing ما فرطنا في الكتاب من شيء
[Al-An'am 6:38]
The Book here is the Preserved Tablet. The Book in this verse is the Preserved Tablet, not the Noble Qur'an. The Noble Qur'an, by the testimony of the people of the Sunnah and the community, does not contain everything related to rectifying a person's worship and conduct; rather, the completion of that is in the Sunnah of his Prophet, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
I have left with you two things; you will not go astray as long as you hold fast to them: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah. They will not separate until they return to me at the Pool. تركت فيكم أمرين لن تضلوا ما إن تمسكتم بهما كتاب الله وسنتي ولن يتفرقا حتى يردا علي الحوض
So if the Sunnah completes the Qur'an, how can it be said that the Qur'an contains everything regarding inventions, innovations, astronomy, and geography? This is an exaggeration that Islam has no need for at all.
We have not neglected in the Register a thing ما فرطنا في الكتاب من شيء
[Al-An'am 6:38]
That is, the Preserved Tablet.
