What is your opinion of those who say that the Salafi call is a regressive call that contradicts progress?

The Shaykh : My response to this—and we seek help from Allah—is certainly that those who make this false claim do not know the Salafi call. It is self-evident that we say, "Whoever is ignorant of something opposes it." The Salafi call, my brothers, I think you heard a glimpse of it earlier, is first of all understanding the Book and the Sunnah according to the methodology of the righteous Salaf. So who, being a Muslim and not misguided—what we mean is not a disbeliever—who would dare to say, being a Muslim, when he hears that the Salafi call is acting upon the Book and the Sunnah according to the methodology of the righteous Salaf, that this is a regressive call? Those who say this are disbelievers without a doubt, or they are those who do not know. So we ask these people who say this baseless word: Do you believe that Islam is suitable for every time and place? If he is truly a Muslim, his answer will be, "Yes, I believe that." Then he shares with us in this scientific and legal reality, and we will proceed with him and say to him: The Islam that has reached us now, did it reach us with one concept or with many concepts? If he says with one concept, it becomes clear that he is an ignorant man, and at that point we must take the matter with him fundamentally. You are living now in this time; you know that there are, for example, Sufi paths. If he denies this, it means he is living on Mars, not on earth.
