Is it obligatory for those present to prostrate with the person prostrating for the prostration of recitation, given that those present did not hear the verse containing the prostration?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This is a questioner for the program who says: O honorable Shaykh, is it obligatory for those present to prostrate with the person prostrating for the prostration of recitation, given that those present did not hear the verse containing the prostration?

The Shaykh : The prostration of recitation is not obligatory, neither for the reciter nor for the one who listens to him, because it is established in Sahih al-Bukhari and others that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to the people on a Friday while he was on the pulpit. He came upon a verse of prostration, so he descended and prostrated, and the people prostrated with him. Then he delivered a sermon on another Friday and did not prostrate.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
O dear listening brothers, he has answered.
