Is jihad in calling people to Allah and teaching them the matters of their religion a substitute for the individual obligation of jihad in Afghanistan?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the Muslim who calls to the path of Allah... willingly for Allah, is he considered a mujahid such that the obligation is lifted from him regarding going to jihad in Afghanistan?

The Shaykh : No,

The questioner : What is lifted from him?

The Shaykh : Never. This jihad he is talking about is a collective obligation; whereas jihad in Afghanistan is an individual obligation, and a collective obligation does not suffice in place of an individual obligation.

The questioner : Is there no excuse for any person, other than a Sharia excuse, not to go to Afghanistan?

The Shaykh : Of course, except with a Sharia excuse.

The questioner : What is an example of a Sharia excuse?

The questioner : Unable to carry a weapon?

The Shaykh : No, he is able to carry a weapon, it is not a condition. Is the blind person unable to carry a weapon?

The questioner : I do not know.

If you prayed the funeral prayer at the time of the midday prayer, you must still pray the midday prayer; but if you prayed the midday prayer and did not pray the funeral prayer, that is permissible. Did you understand me?

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good, O our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Let Abu Mahir have his turn.

The questioner : I want to ask a question, and it is about a hadith that was reported...
