Explaining the necessity of teaching the masses of Muslims the abandoned Sunnahs in a way that prevents them from being surprised by this legal ruling.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Well, but I see on this occasion that it is not befitting to surprise the masses with rulings they have never heard of before. If the imam surprises them practically with this, it has negative effects!

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Therefore, any imam who wants to spread the Sunnah and apply it practically must first spread it verbally. Perhaps you will find in our imam Abu Malik the best example in this regard, for before he surprised the people by demolishing the minbar, for example, he prepared for this demolition so as not to surprise them. This is part of the policy of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which was manifested in his saying to Aisha:
O Aisha, if it were not that your people are recent in their transition from shirk (associating partners with Allah), I would have demolished the Ka'bah and rebuilt it on the foundation of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and I would have made for it two doors: a door on the ground from which people would enter, and a door from which they would exit. يا عائشة لو لا أن قومك حديثوا عهد بالشرك لهدمت الكعبة ولبنيتها على أساس إبراهيم عليه السلام ولجعلت لها بابين مع الأرض بابا يدخلون منه وبابا يخرجون منه
This is part of the Shari'ah policy that we, students of knowledge, must adhere to.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, our Shaykh.
