Ruling on the Friday prayer in an abandoned mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says in this question: Your Eminence! Is it permissible to pray in a mosque that is abandoned for more than four months? And what is our duty if our prayer is not valid? Do we repeat the Friday prayer, or what do we do?

Answer:
The people of the neighborhood must pray in the mosque suitable for them, if it is an abandoned mosque that is suitable for them, close to them, and contains no objectionable matter, they pray in it, praise be to Allah.
The point is: that the people of the neighborhood—the residents of the specific neighborhood—must establish a mosque for them, or revive a mosque for them if they are able. If they are not able, they pray in a specific place they designate as their prayer area, where they pray and gather; because prayer in congregation is a necessary matter. Allah made prayer in congregation obligatory, and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory. Allah says:
and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ
[al-Baqarah:43] And regarding the prayer of fear, He said:
And when you are among them and lead them in prayer, let a group of them stand [in prayer] with youوَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ الصَّلاةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ مَعَكَ
[al-Nisa:102] So He commanded congregation even in the prayer of fear. But if they have an abandoned mosque that is suitable, they pray in it, praise be to Allah, they gather in it, and do not abandon it. And if it is far from them, and a closer mosque is made easy for them to revive and gather in, that is good and fine.
The point is: that they do the thing that gathers them and helps them to perform the prayer in congregation, whether it is an abandoned mosque or not. If it is far from them and difficult for them, they revive a mosque among them, in the middle of them, so that they gather in it and pray in it all together. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
