Is the heart referred to as the pineal gland, or is it intended to mean: consciousness and intellect?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the heart intended to be the physical heart in the human being...

The Shaykh : Yes, by Allah.

The questioner : Or something else.

The Shaykh : No, by Allah, this is the physical heart; because what does our Lord say in the Noble Qur'an?

The questioner :
For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts. فإنه لا تعمى الأبصار ولكن تعمى القلوب التي في الصدور
[Al-Hajj 22:46]
.

The Shaykh : May Allah keep you safe, that is how I want you to be,
but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts. ولكن تعمى القلوب التي في الصدور
[Al-Hajj 22:46]
This does not accept figurative or metaphorical speech at all, correct? Tell me correct or incorrect?

The questioner : It does not accept it.

The Shaykh : It does not accept it; were it not for this verse, one could have gone back and forth, but it says, "Sight does not become blind, but the hearts in the breasts become blind," and secondly, the previous hadith has the same meaning as the verse:
Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart. ألا وأن في الجسد مضغة ، إذا صلحت صلح الجسد كله ، وإذا فسدت فسد الجسد كله ، ألا وهي القلب
Sahih al-Bukhari 52
.

The questioner : I remember one of the shaykhs, I do not remember his correct name, who distinguished between the heart, considering it a non-physical thing, and the self, and the conscience, these matters, correct, as philosophical or otherwise.

The Shaykh : Philosophical indeed, but our discussion now is about the heart. Now, if you asked me what the self is, I would tell you I do not know; the self is a conceptual thing.

The questioner : He considered it something that commands you to do evil; it is the self.

Another questioner : The blaming self and so on.

The Shaykh : No problem, we are talking...

The questioner : The intellect guides you to a specific matter, but the problem is whether the person with intellect is a believer; you find that disbelievers have intellects...

The Shaykh : Okay, thisThe Shaykh : You, who do not remember his name, did he place it before this verse?

The questioner : He did not place it before this verse.

The Shaykh : Why? The verse is explicit, and now a question comes to you, O Abu Muhammad, where is the center of the intellect?

The questioner : I do not believe there is a physical center for the intellect and knowledge; that is with Allah.

The Shaykh : Good, if it does not have a physical center, is it outside the human being or inside the human being?

The questioner : The physical is something tangible...

The Shaykh : You did not answer me.

The questioner : Stay with me, it is the same thing.

The Shaykh : I am always with you - laughsThe Shaykh : (may Allah have mercy on him) -

The questioner : The intended physical is something other than the tangible.

The Shaykh : No problem, I am not asking you to explain the physical to me; I am asking you a question: is it inside the human being or outside the human being?

The questioner : Correctly, I have not seen it...

The Shaykh : No problem, I have not seen it, and I have not seen it.

The questioner : But it is in the human being...

The Shaykh : But is the intellect inside the human being or outside the human being?

The questioner : No, it is in it based on certain connections and other definitions, not definitions of the intellect, but it is considered that it is in it...

The Shaykh : Why do you not answer me? Either tell us it is inside the human being or say it is outside the human being.

The questioner : It is not outside the human being, that would be the correct...

The Shaykh : You still have not answered me, why? Glory be to Allah, Abu Muhammad, O Abu Muhammad! I am putting you under a factual reality; this intellect that is not physical in your expression, it is one of two things, there is no third, either inside the human being or outside the human being, what do you say? Say what you wish, say inside the human being, say outside the human being.

The questioner : Inside the human being.

The Shaykh : Inside the human being, but I see it coming out of you weakly? Inside the human being, weakly, say it with firmness and determination.

The questioner : I have not found a specific thing so that I can say inside the human being or outside the human being.

The Shaykh : Be patient, is the soul of the human being physical or conceptual?

The questioner : Its knowledge is with Allah.

The Shaykh : As we wanted, but in your expression or the philosophy you read, is the soul physical or conceptual?

The questioner: Spiritual.

The Shaykh : Okay, is it inside the human being or outside the human being?

The questioner : Inside the human being, entirely inside, a cell of its cells.

The Shaykh : Good, inside the human being, so is it conceptual? The human being is matter, think about this, what do we want in philosophy now, O Abu Muhammad?!

The questioner : O our masterThe Shaykh : One wrote a comprehensive book on it...

The Shaykh : There is no power nor strength except by Allah... I excused you earlier, I told you, but these people do not speak in terms of "Allah said" or "the Messenger of Allah said"; what do these people read? They teach people:
The scholar said, Allah said, His Messenger said, The Companions said, it is not deception
Knowledge has not made you arrogant in ignorance Between the Messenger and the opinion of a jurist
Nor did you deny the attributes and negate them Out of fear of denial and likening
The point is: Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said, and finally the Companions of the Messenger of Allah said; philosophy, intellect, and logic, this is something we do not have in it, and therefore they lose the group, these people, and they are truly lost.

The questioner : The Qur'an and the verified Prophetic hadiths...

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you, you have known, so adhere to it, Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You...
