Is there a prohibition against cracking one's fingers during prayer or after it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, please go ahead.

The questioner : Is there a prohibition or evidence of prohibition against cracking one's fingers during prayer or after finishing the prayer?

The Shaykh : Cracking one's fingers during prayer is idle behavior that is not befitting of prayer. In my opinion, there is a hadith on this, but I do not remember it now, and in any case, it is not authentic. As for after the prayer, there is no objection to it after the prayer, nor before the prayer. As for during the prayer, the ruling is as you have heard.
Al-Halabi : Our Shaykh, in the athar you mentioned in al-Irwah, from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said to a man he saw cracking his fingers in prayer: "May your mother be bereaved of you! Are you cracking your fingers in prayer?" So he prohibited him from doing it.

The Shaykh : Good. Have you finished your question? Or is there something left on your mind?

The questioner : That is enough.
