The Shaykh Al-Albani’s remarks on the Musnad of Zayd ibn 'Ali.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : But one of the most amazing things is that, in their view, a book on the narration of hadiths is relied upon by them: the Musnad of whom?

The questioner : Zayd.

The Shaykh : Zayd ibn 'Ali. This Musnad of Zayd is narrated by a liar in our view, and they are unable to defend it, because they are poor in biographical evaluation altogether. Since this Musnad is the foundation of their school, we find that whether it is the Shi'ah or the Zaydiyyah, they rely on our books, the books of the people of the Sunnah, to support what they have of truth. But if they want to support what they have of falsehood in our view, they do not find in their books anything but broken or disconnected narrations, or similar to the known defects among the people of hadith. This is an example related to that; that is related to the Shi'ah. Al-Kafi, which is in the position of what? It is like Sahih al-Bukhari, and it is not trusted, even by some of the meticulous scholars of the Shi'ah in the present day. And it contains great calamities in terms of attributing knowledge of the unseen to the Ahl al-Bayt, and the like. We are not in this context now. This is the affair of those who come after the Shi'ah. After the Sunnah comes the Shi'ah, then we said the Zaydiyyah have the Musnad of Zayd ibn 'Ali, and it is narrated by a liar in our view.
