Is discussing the tawhidic issues of the Names and Attributes in front of the common people causing them to fall into doubt and confusion?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Halabi : May Allah reward you with good. On the occasion of mentioning the chapter on the Names and Attributes, some people say that it is obligatory for the callers to Allah not to speak about this chapter in front of the general public and their rabble; because delving into this leads to doubt arising in their hearts. What is the extent of the correctness of this statement?
The Shaykh : Yes, first we say to these people: you speak in front of the general public with what is better than this statement; you speak with what is better than this statement. If you do not like this statement, then your duty is to speak with what you like from other than this statement. And if you do not do so, and you will not do so, then you will hear what does not please you. And this which does not please you, the important thing is that it pleases your Lord. And this is what reached us from the knowledge of the Salaf, and we declare our faith to Allah with it. And the common people, as we told you just now, are upon the fitrah (the innate natural disposition). So if it is said to them, "not above and not below," their hearts reject it. But if it is said to them, "Allah is above all creation and there is no creation above Him," this is what aligns with the sound fitrah (the innate natural disposition)[Ar-Rum 30:30]. Yes, the remaining meaning is one or two precise points only. Yes.
Al-Halabi : We have a question to the extent of the precise point.
The Shaykh: Go ahead.

[Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion
فطرة الله التي فطر الناس عليها لا تبديل لخلق الله ذلك الدين القيمAl-Halabi : We have a question to the extent of the precise point.
The Shaykh: Go ahead.
