He comes and sucks the breast, then he holds it like this, and after a little while he lets go, and then he goes back to it; this is considered a breastfeed. And he goes back a second time, and this is considered a second breastfeed. Then there are people who say no, the breastfeed is the satisfying breastfeed, meaning he nurses, nurses, nurses until what?

The Shaykh : No problem, but I say why is it a false opinion? Because there are hadiths that describe the breastfeeding that makes marriage forbidden as So if you imagine five breastfeeds, that means five sucks.

The questioner : The intention is not that the suck is like that continuously. The child sucks the breast, okay? Then he wants to take a breath and rest, so he lifts up, this is considered a breastfeed.

The Shaykh : And what am I saying?

Al-Halabi : The suck opens the intestines.

The Shaykh : And what am I saying? I say that the matter is not so, because the boy who puts his mouth on the breast and sucks and finishes and leaves, this barely feeds him, it does not satisfy him or grow him. A suck, suppose five sucks, these five sucks in this play that the child usually plays with while on his mother's breast, this does not satisfy, does not feed, does not grow the bone and increase the flesh, do you understand how?

The Shaykh : We took the word "imlajah" and put "suck" in its place. Okay, now we stand at the suck. What is the suck that makes marriage forbidden? Is it just that the boy sucks from the breast, which is not worth the head of a pin, is it called a suck?
Khudr: No.

The Shaykh : So we need to know what the suck is that nurses? Then how does it grow the bone and increase the flesh and open the intestines, how is it interpreted so that it meets with the mere suck?
Khudr: I did not hear from him, but it seems he intends that this period determines the period of formation, meaning when the child nurses in this period in which his intestines open...
Al-Halabi : The period of two years, the period of legal breastfeeding.
Khudr: Then the child, meaning his period of growth is at the beginning of his life, meaning continuously and quickly, even sleep, doctors do not recommend that the child take Valium or substances that make him sleep, why? Because his body is capable of immediate maturation, unlike the adult and the mature one, do you understand, my master?

Khudr: I mean, regarding the matter that the child at the beginning of his age, meaning the least thing affects him, even from nutritious substances and things like this, of this nature I am speaking to you.

The Shaykh : Yes, yes.

Another questioner : Meaning the least amount causes the body to grow, so says Professor Khudr, meaning the least amount of sucking causes...
Khudr: A medical matter.

The questioner : These are things we hear from doctors, meaning they say the principle is that the child does not sleep much, why? Because sleep reduces the natural growth of the child, this is just a medical matter.

The Shaykh : In any case, this is a medical aspect, meaning it does not make one of the two opinions more likely, nor does it lower its value, meaning the issue is a legal one, and in any case, we see that the hadiths we mentioned do not mean a mere suck, not the complete nutrition, but complete nutrition and five breastfeeds are what make marriage forbidden, and Allah knows best.
