Is the call of these parties for cooperation and the rejection of differences effective?

The questioner : The fifth question asks: Is the call of these parties for meeting, cooperation, and abandoning disputes effective in your view now? And this call may result in a new gathering of righteous groups who see their groups' partisanship. What is your opinion, may Allah reward you, in this matter?

The Shaykh : We do not refrain at all from extending our hand to anyone who calls us to understanding and cooperation, but with the fundamental condition by which we pledge allegiance to Allah upon the Book and the Sunnah. So whoever calls us to that, we respond and cooperate, and we do not fear thereafter that a new bloc will emerge that is like its predecessors in deviating, slightly or greatly, from the Book and the Sunnah. And this is apparent now, unfortunately, regarding some of our brothers who were and still are singing the praises of the call to the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the Salaf al-Salih, but they began recently to work in the political field. And by that, their activity in calling Muslims in general will weaken until they recognize their Islam in light of the Book and the Sunnah. In short, we do not refrain from cooperation on the condition of the basis of the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the Salaf al-Salih.
