If forming a bloc is prohibited for those who are not firmly established in knowledge, is it permissible for scholars to form a bloc to serve as a role model for people?

The questioner : If forming a bloc is prohibited for those whose foundations are not yet firmly established in knowledge and its differences, then should not the distinguished scholars who have a prominent role in this field or domain meet with other scholars to work on forming a bloc and become a role model for us?

The Shaykh : The answer is yes, but where are they? And you know that the system of the universe is that the first of the rain is drops, then it pours down. It is obligatory that there be scholars in every town, in the broad sense we mentioned earlier, and that they form a bloc based on the foundation mentioned previously. However, in my opinion, there are no scholars, because those whom the general public imagine to be scholars are, in reality, students of knowledge, like me, who are students of knowledge. They are currently occupied with seeking knowledge. Therefore, the role you are asking for and requesting from them is also premature for those whom you think are scholars. I am not taking you far away; I cannot even deliver a lesson right now, nor am I forming a bloc with my peers, who are students of knowledge, or doing anything beyond that. Why? Because I find myself compelled to work within a specific circle, which is serving the Sunnah, and implementing or verifying and applying an aspect of what we call purification, which is purifying the Sunnah from what has entered it. So I am an example of those scholars you are referring to and asking whether they cannot gather and form a bloc? I say, first of all, about myself, and the matter is as Allah the Exalted said:
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, بل الإنسان على نفسه بصيرا
[Al-Qiyamah 75:14]
And I believe the others are like me, meaning each one has matters that do not allow him to take a step toward the project I mentioned earlier, about which speech was made and discussion took place previously. Therefore, in my opinion, this matter will not be realized until the Islamic societies are filled with dozens of mature scholars who have reached the point where, as they say in our region of Syria, they have no work except leaning on the walls, or putting one foot over the other. These are the ones who must work, but where are those who have completed their knowledge and specialization, each of them, and then have nothing left but to carry out this bloc? The issue revolves around anticipating events, and that this is a premature matter, not attainable, whether regarding individuals initially, or regarding the political or international society or the like. Perhaps this answer is clear regarding your question?
