Details of the Types of Jihad

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, in another question, the questioner asks: Where did these details and arrangements come from? Are they from the Shari'ah or not? Jihad of debate, jihad of endurance, jihad of disassociation, jihad of mutual imprecation, and jihad of fighting?

The Shaykh : It is merely a variation in expression. Some people may add other categories to these divisions, but the important thing is that the term "jihad" applies to them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has two hadiths that can serve as a starting point for understanding these meanings. One is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The mujahid is the one who strives against his own desires for the sake of Allah. المجاهد من جاهد هواه لله
The other hadith is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Use your property, your persons any your tongues in striving against the polytheists. جاهدوا المشركين بأموالكم وأنفسكم وألسنتكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2504Sahih (Al-Albani)
As for the disassociation mentioned as one of the types of jihad, it may be prescribed or it may not be prescribed. It requires detailed analysis. We know that some of those who claim to be involved in jihad today call for the jihad of disassociation. But if they mean by the jihad of disassociation declaring enmity toward the tyrants, then that is the truth. However, it requires a correct Islamic preparation, which in our view comes down to two words: purification and education. Without purifying the Shari'ah from what has entered it, and without educating those invited to Islam with a correct Islamic education, disassociation is not permissible. And from this, some Islamic groups, both before and after, have fallen into many and very serious errors, from which they have gained nothing but bitter patience. May Allah help us. Well, perhaps this is sufficient here.

Another questioner : Five minutes, Shaykh, or not?

The Shaykh : Yes.

Another questioner : Five minutes.

The Shaykh : No, please.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with the best reward...

The Shaykh : And may you be the same, if Allah wills.

The questioner : ... May Allah prolong your life.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you and accept from you.

The questioner: Amen, O Lord.
