Are there any Afghan jihadist parties that were not funded by America?

The questioner : Regarding American aid throughout the long stages of jihad, do you see that any of the Afghan jihadist parties received funding, whether in the form of weapons or financial support, from the American government? Whether this aid was direct, meaning the jihadist parties had direct connections and relationships with America, or whether these relationships were through an intermediary, namely the Pakistani government? Do you not see that the Afghan jihadist parties, throughout the stages of jihad, had communications and relationships with America, and that the time has come when America can utilize this aid to impose the government it wants? Do you not see that the Afghan jihad is not one of the loopholes in which the Afghan jihad fell throughout its long historical stages of fourteen years of jihad?

The Shaykh : That is the opinion, may Allah reward you, but we have nothing to lead us to say that they were complicit and cooperating on a future planned by the Americans for these mujahideen. We cannot say that. Yes?

The questioner : We cannot say this about all the parties.

The Shaykh : No, we cannot say that. It is possible that an individual adopts such cooperation with America in secret. This is possible, as it exists in all Arab countries, and indeed in all Islamic countries. Then, it later appeared that there were statements resembling admissions that they were, so to speak, accepting the weapons that came to them from America, even if in the roundabout way you referred to. But we cannot consider this a collusion and agreement with America to reach the goal that America wants from the colonialism it began to impose on Arab and Islamic countries, and perhaps other countries as well, as we saw the outcome of communism in Russia. In any case, we must call upon Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to protect us from the evil of the trials of the disbelievers, who do not want a Muslim state to be established in any Islamic country, and for our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) to rectify all Muslims in all lands of Islam. Because the truth is, if the Muslim state is not established as it was supposed to be in America, or rather, in the jihad, or in Afghanistan, then the responsibility does not fall only on the Afghan mujahideen or the Afghan people, but it includes the general body of Muslims, whether we are here, in Saudi Arabia, or in any region where there are Muslims. In the name of Allah.
