The Shaykh responds to a doubt, namely that the one who resides there practices his religion with complete freedom.

The Shaykh : ... Here is a doubt that must be mentioned on this occasion, and it is a deceptive doubt that many young people are deceived by. They say, "O Shaykh, by Allah, we are taking our religious freedom here more than in our own country." This is correct from some aspects, but I surprise them with a reality they have not experienced. I say to them: "Can you raise your voices for the adhan?" They say: "No." I say: "Where is the freedom you claim?" Then I remind them of the long-term perspective: If you fled with your religion, as you claim, to the lands of disbelief, can you imagine that you can establish the state of Islam where you are, in America, in France, and so on, except after centuries and long centuries? Which of the two is closer: that you return to your countries and cooperate with your brothers there to first achieve the Muslim society and the Islamic life from which the establishment of the state of Islam and ruling by Islam emanates, or is it closer there? No, by Allah, they say: "In the lands of Islam it is closer," because to return those disbelieving countries to the state of the Islamic countries requires centuries. Therefore, you are living in illusions. You say: "We live in more freedom than in the lands of Islam." This is an illusion and this is imagination. You pray and fast, and so on, but most of your fasting and most of your prayer is not in the manner prescribed by the Shari'ah. Then leave this aspect aside; you hear there are problems that the youth face regarding marriage to some of the women of the People of the Book, as they claim, and the offspring that results from that, and the dispute if the woman divorces him, not him divorcing her, so his son or daughter remains with her and not with him. These are problems we always ask about. These do not occur in the lands of Islam. Therefore, the truth, in which there is no doubt or ambiguity, is that it is not permissible for a Muslim today to live in the lands of disbelief. If he is expelled from his country of birth, it is sufficient for him to move to another country among the lands of Islam. This is what comes to my mind to mention, or what I saw as necessary to mention on the occasion of discussing this issue.
