The Shaykh’s opening of the mosque, followed by a discussion of the rulings concerning the mosque and how it is built upon the fear of Allah.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He leaves to misguide, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
,
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
,
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
. As for what follows, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations. Every innovation is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. After that, the first thing that comes to mind is to congratulate the neighbors of this blessed mosque, if Allah wills, which we hope has been founded upon the fear of Allah. A mosque is not founded upon the fear of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) unless it is in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). This is because it was the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that when he first migrated from the Noble Mecca to the Blessed Medina, the first thing he began with was building his mosque, may peace and blessings be upon him. This is because the mosques are the refuge and gathering place of the Muslims; indeed, they are their school where they receive lessons that teach them the Shari'ah of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family). Therefore, there are many hadiths that encourage Muslims to build mosques, especially in lands or neighborhoods where there is no mosque. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
There are no three people in the desert who do not have the adhan called for them and the prayer established among them, except that Shaytan takes possession of them—meaning he surrounds them. So stick to the congregation, for the wolf only eats the stray sheep.
. Therefore, it is obligatory for every accountable Muslim to maintain the performance of the five daily prayers in the mosque, and not to pray in his house, his shop, or his factory. Rather, he must leave everything that occupies him from responding to the caller of Allah, which is the mu'adhdhin when he says, "Come to prayer, come to success." When the Muslim hears this organized command from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family), five times every day, this is so that no Muslim has an excuse for missing the congregational prayer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hears the call and does not respond and has no excuse, he has no prayer.
. This is a hadith that encourages Muslims to respond to the call of Allah when it says, "Come to prayer, come to success." If he does not do so and has no legitimate religious excuse, his prayer fluctuates between not being accepted at all—meaning it is not accepted—and being accepted at the lowest levels of reward and recompense.
