Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on one who knows the correct evidence from some of the scholars and takes a weak evidence from another scholar on the grounds that he issued him that fatwa and placed it on his neck?

The Shaykh : He places it on his neck before he ruins the correct hadith on his neck.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : As for after he has looked at the correct hadith, this contradicts faith.

The questioner: Yes

The Shaykh :
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission. فلا و ربك لا يؤمنون حتى يحكموك فيما شجر بينهم ثم لا يجدوا في أنفسدهم حرجا مما قضيت و يسلموا تسليما
[An-Nisa 4:65]
