Continuation of the discussion on the preceding explanation of the athar of Malik (may Allah have mercy on him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : For two reasons. The first reason is that it was not the practice of the righteous Salaf to ask about the manner of istiwaa' (rising above the Throne). The second reason is that only the people of innovation ask this question, for they are the ones who bring up such questions to cast doubt in the hearts of the people of the Sunnah regarding what they hold. They say, for example, "Do you know how Allah rose above the Throne?" A Salafi would say, "Do I know or not know? I do not know how He rose, but I know that He rose, meaning He rose above it, Mighty and Majestic, in a manner befitting His majesty and greatness, and not like the rising of a person upon a ship or a camel. Rather, it is a rising befitting Him that does not entail any deficiency in any way. In any case, in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
that they may reflect upon His verses ليدبروا آياته
, what is the evidence? It is evidence that the verses of the attributes are known in meaning, for one cannot reflect upon something whose meaning cannot be reached. As for their realities, they are unknown to us.
