The Meaning of Allah the Exalted’s Saying: “Do not go before Allah and His Messenger”

The Shaykh : Here, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says: Some people said: meaning “do not go ahead,” but the meaning of “do not go ahead” is actually more precise than the meaning of “do not go ahead.” The meaning is: do not go before Allah, neither in words nor deeds, nor rulings, nor reports, nor anything else. Do not go before Allah and His Messenger. Do not go before Allah and His Messenger with anything. So do not legislate what Allah has not legislated, do not forbid what Allah has not forbidden, do not permit what Allah has not permitted, do not make obligatory what Allah has not made obligatory, and do not assert what you have no knowledge of regarding Allah. Be polite. Be a true servant of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Be a true believer in Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
