The questioner : We read your answer regarding the excuse of ignorance in matters that constitute disbelief, but we find in the book Kashf al-Shubuhat by Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab that there is no excuse of ignorance, and likewise in his book al-Tawhid, even though you mentioned in your answer the statements of Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab, as well as Ibn Taymiyyah in the Fatawa and Ibn Qudamah in al-Mughni. We ask for clarification?

The Shaykh : Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab mentioned in his letters that he does not declare anyone a disbeliever in the presence of ignorance. If he stated in Kashf al-Shubuhat that there is no excuse of ignorance, it is understood that he meant the ignorance that resulted from negligence on the part of the person in not learning, such as knowing that something is contrary to what is correct but being negligent and careless. In that case, there is no excuse of ignorance.
