Explaining the manner of harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Among the ways of harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is to insult his Sunnah and his Shari'ah, describing them as deficient and claiming that they do not encompass the rulings people need. Among the ways of harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is to insult his family, his Ahl al-Bayt, whether his relatives or his wives, for this is among the greatest forms of harming him. Whoever insults one of the Mothers of the Believers, or all of the Mothers of the Believers, has thereby harmed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Whoever insults any of his relatives who believed in him has thereby harmed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). As for his relatives who did not believe in him, insulting them is not considered harming the Messenger; rather, Allah the Exalted insulted Abu Lahab, who was the uncle of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and revealed a complete Surah regarding his insult, which people recite until the Day of Resurrection in their obligatory and voluntary prayers and in their recitations by which they seek nearness to Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
(1) May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. (2) His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. (3) He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame (4) And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. (5) Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. تبّت يدا أبي لهب وتب، ما أغنى عنه ماله وما كسب، سيصلى نارا ذات لهب، وامرأته حمّالة الحطب، في جيدها حبل من مسد
[Al-Masad 111:1-5]
. Among the ways of harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is to insult his Companions who defended him, supported him, honored him, and engaged in jihad with him until Allah made Islam triumphant through his hand and their hands. Therefore, insulting them is, without a doubt, a harm to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
