And it is also explicit in affirming the fingers, just as the one of the proof stated (Al-Ash'ari's affirmation of the attribute of fingers for Allah, whereas the Ash'aris deny that and their argument and the refutation of them)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And it is also explicit in affirming the fingers, just as the one of the proof stated"
Who is the one of the proof? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So Al-Ash'ari is explicit that Allah has fingers, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us when he said:
There is no heart among the hearts of the children of Adam but that it is between two fingers of the fingers of the Most Merciful, and He turns it as He wills إنه ما من قلب من قلوب بني آدم إلا وهو بين أصبعين من أصابع الرحمن يقلبه كيف شاء
.
The Ash'aris who claim to be followers of Al-Ash'ari denied the fingers. They said: It is not possible for Him to have fingers. Well, who said this? The one who knows Allah best among creation, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). They said: This is prevented by the wording, because he said:
There is no heart but that it is between two fingers of the fingers of the Most Merciful ما من قلب إلا بين أصبعين من أصابع الرحمن
Sahih Ibn Hibban 7:340
and this necessitates that the fingers of Allah be in our bellies. Yes, because if you say: This is between my fingers, it means that the fingers are touching it. And if they touch the heart, it follows that the fingers of Allah are in our chests, and this is impossible. Therefore, the apparent meaning of the hadith is not intended. We say to them: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addresses the nation with a clear Arabic tongue, and it is not possible for him to address them with such explicitness while intending something else without clarifying it, and he did not clarify it. And your statement that there must be contact is incorrect. Being between does not necessitate contact. Have you not heard the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth والسحاب المسخر بين السماء والأرض
[Al-Baqarah 2:164]
And yet, is He touching the sky and the earth? No, He is not touching them. The sky is far from Him and the earth is far from Him. Have you not heard people say: Medina is between Damascus and Makkah? Yes? Correct? And is it adjacent to them? No. So being between in place does not necessitate contact at all. And by this we know that the intended meaning of the hadith is its literal meaning, and that the hearts are between two fingers of the fingers of Allah, and it is not intended as they said that it is a metaphor for management and complete dominion. Well.
