Is it permissible to use hand gestures when we say, "The hearts of the servants are between two fingers of the fingers of the Merciful"?

The Shaykh : Now, is it permissible to use hand gestures when we say ? It is not permissible; it is forbidden. That is, we cannot say it like this, or like this, or like this, or like this. It is forbidden. Because what is this? It is asking how an attribute is, and asking how an attribute is is not permissible. Rather, this is comparing Allah to creation, and comparing Allah to creation is not permissible. Rather, we say, "Between two fingers of the fingers of the Merciful," and Allah knows best about the manner of this. This is what is obligatory, and this is what is safe. As for what we have heard from some people who claim to be from the Salaf and that they want to establish the truth, you find one of them saying, "Between two fingers," and he takes something with him, between two fingers, between two fingers. Yes, this is forbidden. This is clear comparing Allah to creation. Then, who told you that the two fingers are, for example, the thumb and the index finger? If I were to say to you, "I have a grain," and I placed it between my fingers and ate it, could you know whether it was this one or that one? Answer, everyone? You cannot, because it is permissible for him to hold it with the index finger and thumb, or with the index finger and middle finger, or with the index finger and ring finger, or with the index finger and little finger. Do you understand? He might hold it with the middle finger and index finger? Some people are very skilled, and we have seen people who eat rice with chopsticks. You know rice; they eat rice with chopsticks, meaning they take a grain of rice between two sticks and eat it.

The Shaykh : No, but with great speed. It is something amazing. It is not like taking it with the hands, like a chicken taking a grain. It is much faster, with great speed. In any case, it is not permissible for a person who believes in the greatness of Allah and the majesty of Allah to compare Allah to creation regarding how the hearts are between two fingers of the fingers of Allah. Also, if he makes a comparison, there must be contact, is that not so? It means that you have now established that the fingers of the Merciful (Mighty and Majestic) are in the chests of people. This is another danger. It is upon us, if we want to believe in Allah and the Last Day and follow the Companions with excellence, not to go beyond what they did not do, and not to go beyond what they did. This means that we remain silent about what they remained silent about. And Allah is sufficient for us with this as a source of pride. Now, praise be to Allah.
