Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The second thing regarding today: I saw that there is a book by al-Hafiz al-Dhahabi, excuse me, "The Golden Advice by Ibn Taymiyyah." What is your opinion of this book? Of course, it is a manuscript, or is it printed with some other books?

The Shaykh : First, there was a long debate regarding the authenticity of attributing the treatise to the author al-Dhahabi. So, if we assume that the attribution to him is correct, what is in it? It states that this noble man and great scholar, to whom the credit goes for the awakening present today, is not an infallible prophet, and that is all.

The questioner : That is, I mean, it should not be taken that al-Dhahabi deviated from his Shaykh.

The Shaykh : No, I seek refuge in Allah.

The questioner : In matters of creed or something of that sort.

The Shaykh : Never.

The questioner : And we all make mistakes, as you know, and everyone is taken from and returned to, except the one in this grave.

The Shaykh : I thought you would tell me it is not as you know, but rather as I said, I thought you would say as I said just now.

The questioner : Yes, that is right, meaning, as you know, previously, currently, and in the future, if Allah wills, as you always say, as we take this from you.

The Shaykh : No, no, but I am reminding you that the summary of that is that Ibn Taymiyyah is not infallible, so I told you beforehand, before you told me "as you know," that I know as you know, and I said what I said just now before you said "as you know."

The questioner : Meaning, did I mislead you with my speech, implying something?

The Shaykh : There is some forgetfulness.

The questioner : Excuse me, may Allah forgive you, my professor, the situation makes a person forget much of what he says.

The Shaykh : May Allah make the outcome good.

The questioner : I do not really know.

The Shaykh : We seek help from Allah.

The questioner : The troubles that occur in this strange time are always the troubles of every time, but in these times, the troubles are severe, making the calm person bewildered.

The Shaykh : We ask Allah for relief.

The questioner : Amen, and may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware, my brother.

The questioner : And send greetings to those with you.

The Shaykh : Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you and them.

The questioner : Peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah.
