Continuation of the answer to the hadith: “Seek nearness to Allah through my status…”

The Shaykh : Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is better than them, and his status is great. But what benefit is there for me in his status if faith in him does not benefit me? What benefit is there for me in his status if faith in him does not benefit me? His status is of no benefit to anyone but him, but faith in him is of benefit to everyone who believes in him. So, my brother, instead of saying, “O Allah, I ask You by the status of Your Prophet,” say, “O Allah, I ask You by faith in Your Prophet,” or “by following Your Prophet,” or “by love for Your Prophet,” because love for the Prophet is part of the religion of Allah.
