A woman suffering from shortness of breath who has been prescribed by doctors an inhaler to help her breathe, which she uses in her mouth and nose and consists of air

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : She says that she is suffering from a condition of shortness of breath in the chest, and the doctors have prescribed her an inhaler to help her breathe. She uses this inhaler in her mouth and nose, and the inhaler consists of air. She sometimes uses this medication during the day in the month of Ramadan while fasting. Does this inhaler break the fast or not? May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : What I see is that this inhaler does not break the fast, because, as she said, it is air or particles of oxygen that do not reach the stomach. What is forbidden for the fasting person is eating and drinking and what is equivalent to them, and this is not eating or drinking nor equivalent to eating and drinking. It does not reach the stomach; in fact, it may not even reach the throat. So what I see is that there is nothing wrong with it, and there is no blame if the fasting person uses it, whether for obligatory fasting or not. It does not invalidate the fast, neither voluntary fasting nor obligatory fasting.
