Reconciling this verse with His saying, the Exalted: "O Prophet, Allah is sufficient for you, and those who follow you from among the believers"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If we have established this, how do we reconcile it with the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
O Prophet, sufficient for you is Allah and for whoever follows you of the believers. يا أيها النبي حسبك الله ومن تبعك من المؤمنين
[Al-Anfal 8:64]
? The answer is that His saying
Allah is sufficient for you حسبك الله
— that is, His saying
and for whoever follows you of the believers. ومن اتبعك من المؤمنين
[Al-Anfal 8:64]
— is not conjoined to the Name of Allah (the Glorious Name). That is, the meaning is not "Allah is sufficient for you, and those who follow you from among the believers are sufficient for you." Rather, it is conjoined to the *kaf* in His saying:
Allah is sufficient for you حسبك الله
. That is, "Allah is sufficient for you, and [Allah is] sufficient for those who follow you from among the believers." This is necessitated because *al-hisab* (sufficiency) is not for anyone but Allah alone, Mighty and Majestic
say, "Sufficient for me is Allah فقل حسبي الله
[At-Tawbah 9:129]
.
