The supplications and remembrances recited in prostration and bowing in the late-night voluntary prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The supplications and remembrances recited in the prostration and bowing of the late-night voluntary prayer?

The Shaykh : First, it should be known that when a person stands up for prayer at night, he should look at the time between him and the dawn. If the time is ample, he should lengthen the prayer in its recitation, bowing, prostration, and sitting. In the bowing, he should increase in glorifying Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and in the prostration, he should increase in supplication and strive in it, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating; so while in the bowing (position) glorify (the Perfection of) the Rabb (Lord), and while in the prostrating (position) be earnest in supplication, for it is fitting that your supplications may be answered."
Bulugh al-Maram 2:179
.
Among the supplications reported for the bowing and prostration is to say:
Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbanã wa bihamdika, Allãhumma ighfirli
Sahih al-Bukhari 4293
. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say this frequently in his bowing and prostration after Allah revealed to him His saying:
(1) When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, (2) And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes, (3) Then exalt [Him] with praise of your Lord and ask forgiveness of Him. Indeed, He is ever Accepting of repentance.
[An-Nasr 110:1-3]
.
And if he supplicates with what he desires from the matters of this world and the Hereafter, there is no blame on him for that, because supplication is worship, whether in the matters of this world or the matters of religion. As for the statement of some scholars that it is not permissible for the one praying to supplicate for something related to this world, and that if he did so, his prayer would become invalid, that is a weak statement that contradicts the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) when he taught him the tashahhud and said:
Then let him choose whatever he wishes from supplication.
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:238
. And in another wording:
I do not like ما أحب
.
This indicates that there is no restriction on a person in his supplication, and that he has the right to supplicate for whatever he wishes from the matters of this world and the Hereafter.
The scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) mentioned that supplication is worship, and they cited as evidence His saying, the Exalted:
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.
[Ghafir 40:60]
. He commanded supplication, then He said:
Indeed, those who disdain My worship
[Ghafir 40:60]
. This indicates that supplication is part of worship. And if it is part of worship, and the Lawgiver has permitted its general category, then it includes a person's supplication to his Lord regarding the matters of his religion or the matters of his worldly life.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
