A comment on the reciter's saying: "Praise be to Allah, the One who said..."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Praise be to Allah, the One who said
O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful. يا أيها الذين آمنوا اصبروا وصابروا ورابطوا واتقوا الله لعلكم تفلحون
[Ali 'Imran 3:200]
, and may blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of the Ummah, Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon his Companions, and upon those who followed them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. The Imam al-Hafiz 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi said...

The Shaykh : I have a comment on this sermon. Sometimes people vary the sermon, but they go a bit too far. "Praise be to Allah, the One who said" is used by many people, but I have not seen it used in the Sunnah, nor in the speech of the Companions, nor in the speech of the Imams, as far as we know. If you say "Praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness," and you adhere to what is transmitted, that is better. Then, he omitted the blessings and peace upon the family (al-ahl); he did not mention the family, even though it is necessary to mention them. Because if the family of the Prophet is not associated with the Companions and the followers, then the family of the Prophet, if the Companions and followers are not mentioned with them, becomes the entire Ummah, or the entire Ummah is meant by them. So he repeated the sermon in a manner other than what I mentioned, or rather, changing it to what is better is better.
