What is your advice for one who wishes to be a leader in knowledge and calling to good, given the difficulties he faces?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. This is a matter that is constantly raised and found to be difficult. It is the matter of a person who wants to call to good and do righteous deeds, but he sees that his activities and personal work take up his time. So, does he take a wage for this work with a good intention, and what is your advice?

The Shaykh : First: If a person intends a good intention, then Allah will make the work easy for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. إنما الأعمال بالنيات، وإنما لكل امرئ ما نوى
Sahih al-Bukhari 1
.
Second: A person should organize his time, for his self has a right upon him, his family has a right upon him, and his guest has a right upon him. So he should organize the time in which he is able to fulfill the rights of their owners. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
the prayer of David who used to sleep for (the first) half of the night and pray for 1/3 of it and (again) sleep for a sixth of it أفضل القيام قيام داود، كان ينام نصف الليل، ويقوم ثلثه، وينام سدسه
Sahih al-Bukhari 3420
.
And if he does this work with sincerity of intention, Allah will make it easy for him. But for him to love to be a leader in knowledge and calling to Allah and righteous work without moving, this is not possible. As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in what is narrated from him:
The clever person ids the one who subjugates his soul, and works for what is after death. And the incapable is the one who follows his desires and merely hopes in Allah. الكيس من دان نفسه وعمل لما بعد الموت، والعاجز من أتبع نفسه هواها وتمنى على الله الأماني
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2459Da'if (Darussalam)
.
