The Ruling on Taking a Wage for Calling to Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! A person wants to call to Allah and do good deeds, but he sees that his activities and personal affairs take up his time. So, should he take a wage for these activities with a good intention?
First: If a person intends a good intention, then Allah will facilitate the work for him.The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Actions are by intentions, and every person will have what he intended).
Second: A person should organize his time, for he has a right upon his self, a right upon his family, and a right upon his guest. So, he should organize the time in which he is able to fulfill the rights of their respective owners. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The best standing in prayer is the standing of Dawud. He would sleep half the night, stand in prayer for a third of it, and sleep a sixth of it).
And if he does this work with sincerity of intention, Allah will facilitate it for him. But for him to love to be an imam in knowledge and calling to Allah and doing good deeds without moving, that is not possible. As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in what is narrated from him: (The wise one is he who disciplines his self and works for what is after death, and the incapable one is he who follows his self's desires and hopes for Allah's promises).
