Is it permissible to appoint a proxy for the 'Id sacrifice?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, is it permissible to appoint a proxy from among one's family for the 'Id sacrifice?

The Shaykh : Why would he appoint his family for the 'Id sacrifice?

The questioner : In order to free himself for the acts of Hajj.

The Shaykh : So, is he a pilgrim?

The questioner : Yes, he is a pilgrim.

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a person who performs Hajj to appoint one of his family members who remain in the town to sacrifice on his behalf and on behalf of his household, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed 'Ali ibn Abi Talib to slaughter the remainder of his sacrificial animals.
