What are the matters that help a person to be accepted by people?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What are the matters that help a person to be accepted by people?

The Shaykh : First, it is obligatory that a person’s concern be the pleasure of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and that he be accepted by Allah and honored in His sight. This is the highest objective, above all else. If a person holds this status with Allah, he holds that same status with the servants of Allah. Indeed, whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) at the cost of the anger of people, Allah will be pleased with him, and He will make people pleased with him, and Allah will suffice him against them. The hadith states:
When Allah loves a servant, He calls out to Jibril, “I so-and-so, so love him.” Then Jibril calls out to the inhabitants of the heavens, “Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.” Then the inhabitants of the heavens love him. Then acceptance is placed for him on earth, so the inhabitants of the earth love him and accept from him.
So, seek the pleasure of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And if you seek the pleasure of Allah, it falls into the second degree, which is what we refer to in this answer as second: the pleasure of people follows the pleasure of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). If Allah is pleased with you and makes you honored in His sight, you become pleasing to people and honored in their sight.
We ask Allah the Exalted to make us and our brothers among those who are accepted by Him and honored in His sight. Indeed, He is Generous and Bountiful.

The questioner : O Allah, amen. May Allah bless you, O Shaykh. This listener, Muhammad Idris Abdullah, a Sudanese, wrote in his own style, saying: “O Shaykh…”
