The reciter: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Malik narrated to me from Hisham ibn 'Urwah from his wife Fatimah from her grandmother Asma' bint Abi Bakr, who said: .
The Shaykh : His statement, may Allah have mercy on him: "Chapter on the one who does not perform ablution except from heavy faintness" refers to this to the loss of reason. Is it among the things that invalidate ablution or not?
And the causes of the loss of reason. I do not mean madness, but the covering of the mind. Its causes are many, among them: sleep, and among them: fatigue, exhaustion, and weariness, and among them: accidents, and among them: smelling some foul odors. The important thing is that the causes are many, and the point is that a person loses his consciousness. Does he perform ablution or not?
In this, there is disagreement, and the disagreement regarding sleep has reached eight opinions of the scholars, may Allah have mercy on them. The closest of the opinions in that is that if a person would be aware of himself if he passed wind, then sleep does not invalidate ablution in any state, whether he is lying down, leaning, bowing, or prostrating.
And as for if he is immersed in his sleep such that if he passed wind he would not be aware, then ablution is obligatory upon him. The wisdom is apparent, because if he would be aware if he passed wind, we know for certain that his ablution remains. But if he reaches a state where if he passed wind he would not be aware of himself, then we do not know. The eye is the clasp of the sphincter, so if the eyes sleep, the clasp loosens. This is the closest of the opinions in this issue. Do not ask whether he is standing, bowing, prostrating, lying down, or leaning. The criterion is awareness. When awareness is lost, he must perform ablution, otherwise he does not.
And based on this, if the faintness is heavy, it obligates ablution, and if it is not so, it does not obligate ablution. Now, if someone asks: Did not Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) explain the state of ritual impurity about which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 60Sahih (Al-Albani) as the state of the two passages?
We say yes, but heavy sleep is a place where the excreted matter exits. From where does the excreted matter exit? From the two passages. So we have not gone beyond the excreted matter from the two passages, even when we say that ablution is obligatory from heavy sleep.
As for the hadith, it says about Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her and her father) that she said: And Asma's connection to 'A'ishah? She was her sister. , When was the solar eclipse? The sun was eclipsed in the tenth year, in Shawwal, on the twenty-ninth of it. And as for the one who said it was in Rabi' al-Awwal in the middle of it, this is not correct, because it is not possible for an eclipse to occur except in the nights of the moon's disappearance, meaning the hiding of the moon, and that is at the end of the month. If a person told you that the sun was eclipsed on the tenth day, say this is a lie. Did you understand? And it is not possible for the moon to be eclipsed except in the nights of the moon's appearance. If a person told you that the moon was eclipsed on the twentieth of the month, say this is a lie. It is not possible, why? Because the cause of the lunar and solar eclipses is a known thing.
The cause of the eclipse, meaning the lunar eclipse, is that the earth is between the sun and the moon, and this is not possible except in the time of the moon's appearance, where the moon is in the east and the sun in the west. And it is not possible for a solar eclipse to occur except in the nights of the moon's disappearance, meaning when the moon is close to the sun, because the cause of the solar eclipse is the interposition of the moon between it and the earth, and this is not possible in the middle of the month or similar. This is a matter agreed upon by astronomers, as well as the meticulous scholars of the Shari'ah, such as Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, who said: "Indeed, Allah has established a custom that cannot be changed: there is no solar eclipse except in the time of the moon's disappearance, and no lunar eclipse except in the time of the moon's appearance" And he said that the statement of the jurists, may Allah have mercy on them, if the lunar eclipse occurred on the evening of 'Arafah, meaning the lunar eclipse, one prays before departing, then departs from 'Arafah, he said this scenario is impossible. He said and their statement: "Indeed, Allah is capable of all things." Yes, indeed, Allah is capable of all things. If He willed, He could extinguish the light of the moon without an eclipse, but Allah has established the custom that there is no lunar eclipse except in this time and no solar eclipse except in this time.
The sun was eclipsed on the day that Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) loved this child intensely, so he died and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) grieved for him, and his eyes shed tears and his heart was grieved, and he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 1303 or he said: Sahih al-Bukhari 1303 And he was informed (peace and blessings be upon him) that he has a nursing mother in Paradise because he died before weaning. He died at sixteen months old, may Allah be pleased with him. So the people were talking, saying: The sun was eclipsed for the death of Ibrahim. Based on a false pre-Islamic belief that the sun is not eclipsed except when a great person dies, and likewise the moon.
So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, by His wisdom, willed for the matter to be a reality to refute this pre-Islamic belief. Glory be to Allah, meaning Allah, Mighty and Majestic, established this event, the eclipse, on the day Ibrahim died in order to refute this belief completely.
Just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the Companions when he performed Hajj, he ordered those who were in the state of ihram for Hajj alone or with Qiran to make it 'Umrah, so that the corrupt belief in the hearts of the Arabs that 'Umrah in the months of Hajj is not permissible would be removed.
When the sun rose and ascended the height of a spear or two spears, it was eclipsed totally until it became like a piece of copper. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited a long recitation indicating that the eclipse lasted three hours or more. The people were terrified by this total eclipse, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it be announced: So it was announced, and the people gathered, men and women. A great scene, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of his house dragging his cloak, (peace and blessings be upon him). After he was caught up with, he came out without a cloak, then they caught up with him, and he was dragging his cloak in haste. And he ordered to hasten to the remembrance of Allah, to His supplication, to the takbir, to charity, to prayer, and to freeing slaves. All of this was ordered, because the matter of the eclipse is not a light matter. Then the people gathered, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with them, (peace and blessings be upon him). And he prayed a long, long prayer, considering his age, meaning in the tenth year of the Hijrah, how old was he?
The questioner : ...
I came to 'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when the sun was eclipsed. I saw the people standing and praying, and she was standing and praying. I said, "What is the matter with the people?" She pointed her hand toward the sky and said, "Glory be to Allah." I said, "Is it a sign?" She pointed and said, "Yes." So I stood until I was overcome by faintness, and I kept pouring water over my head. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, he praised Allah and extolled Him, then he said: "There is nothing that I had not seen that I saw in my position, except Paradise and the Fire. And indeed, it was revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves, like or close to the trial of the Dajjal. I do not know which of these 'Asimah said. One of you will be brought and asked, 'What is your knowledge of this man?' As for the believer or the one who is certain—I do not know which of these 'Asimah said—he will say, 'He is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. He came to us with clear proofs and guidance, so we answered him, believed in him, and followed him.' It will be said, 'Sleep well, for we have known that you were a believer.' And as for the hypocrite or the one who is doubtful—I do not know which of these 'Asimah said—he will say, 'I do not know; I heard the people saying something, so I said it.'"
The Shaykh : His statement, may Allah have mercy on him: "Chapter on the one who does not perform ablution except from heavy faintness" refers to this to the loss of reason.
