And with his chain of narration, he said: "None of you should urinate in stagnant water that does not flow and then bathe in it."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And with his chain of narration, he said:
You should not pass urine in stagnant water which is not flowing then (you may need to) wash in it. لا يبولن أحدكم في الماء الدائم الذي لا يجري ثم يغتسل فيه
Sahih al-Bukhari 239
.

The Shaykh :
We are the last [to enter Paradise] نحن الآخِرون
means a time in this world,
the forerunners السابقون
in the Hereafter, in all the stations of the Hereafter. This Ummah, and all praise is due to Allah, is the first Ummah, on the Sirat, and in entering Paradise, and on the Scale, and in everything.
The point of the hadith is his saying:
You should not pass urine in stagnant water which is not flowing لا يبولن أحدكم في الماء الدائم الذي لا يجري
Sahih al-Bukhari 239
He explained his saying:
stagnant الدائم
by his saying:
that does not flow الذي لا يجري
.
and then bathe in it ثم يغتسل فيه
And that is because if one urinates in it while it is stagnant and not flowing, and then bathes in it, there is a contradiction in this. How can one purify oneself with water that one has made impure with one's urine, especially if the water is small in quantity?
It is understood from this that it is permissible for a person to urinate in flowing water and then bathe in it or perform ablution with it, because the urine is carried away by the water. Is the intended meaning of "water that does not flow" a large, stagnant body of water?
The answer is no. A large, stagnant body of water, such as if it were in the sea or in a large portion of it, is not affected by this urine and is not harmful.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : It is valid.
