Commentary on the preceding verses and the ruling between the Jahmiyyah, the Muqattirah, and the Asha'irah regarding the speech of Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author says in this:
"So judge between them, may Allah guide you, *** For they have presented to you an argument and an explanation"
Judge between these people who differ regarding the speech of Allah. The schools of thought before us now are three, and it has been previously explained that there are eight schools of thought, but what is before us now is three: the school of the Jahmiyyah, the school of the Muqattirah, and the school of the Asha'irah. You know the difference between them.
If we judge between them, we say: As for the school of the Muqattirah and the Asha'irah, it is not reasonable. As for the school of the Jahmiyyah, it is reasonable from one aspect and denied from another aspect. As for it being reasonable, it is from the aspect that it is arranged, heard by voice, and connected to His will; all of this is true. So the speech of Allah is with letters and a heard voice, connected to His will. As for what is denied in their statement, it is their saying that it is created. For example, if Allah intends to speak, He creates speech in any place, in the tree, in Jibril, in the air, in the place from which the speech of Allah was heard. They say this is the speech of Allah. And this is undoubtedly denied and invalid, because if the speech comes out of this, it is a description of whom? Of the one from whom it came out, not of Allah. Otherwise, we would say that all the speech of people is the speech of Allah, and this is invalid. This is nothing but the school of the Ittihadiyyah.
So we judge between them. We say: As for what the Asha'irah and the Muqattirah held, it is an invalid school of thought that we do not approve of. And as for what the Jahmiyyah held, it is also an invalid school of thought that we do not approve of in its entirety. However, some of its points are truth and reality. The details of this will come, if Allah wills. Yes.
