The Meaning of the Second Principle According to the Mu'tazilah, Which is Justice.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The second is justice. Justice means that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is just. We say that is correct, but do you know what they say? They say that Allah is just, so He has no connection to the actions of the servant, because it is not just to decree the actions of the servant and then punish him. It is not just. And based on justice, they denied the divine decree. They said that Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, did not decree the actions of the servants, and He is not able to make the disbeliever a believer, or the believer a disbeliever, or the sinner just, or the just one a sinner. He is not able to do this, because if you said that Allah is able to do that, and that Allah is the One who decrees, you have described Allah with injustice. You have described Allah with injustice. And they cited poetry for that:
"He cast him into the sea bound, and said to him: *** Beware, beware, lest you be wet by the water"
He cast him into the sea, and the sea... the sea.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : How is the sea?
The student: Similar to the sea.

The Shaykh : Heh heh, by Allah, knowledge, you see, it is with the one... So the sea is the sea or similar to the sea, and... Muhammad.
The student: The sea.

The Shaykh : Certainly, and what is the evidence from the Qur'an?
The student: The evidence is His saying, the Exalted, regarding the people of Pharaoh.

The Shaykh :
We drowned them in the sea فأغرقناهم في اليم
[Al-A'raf 7:136]
Good, so it is not similar to the sea. Good.
"He cast him into the sea bound, and said to him: *** Beware, beware, lest you be wet by the water"
And this is impossible. It is not possible; he must get wet, unless he had a plastic bag on him, in which case he might not get wet, but that does not exist. Good. They say: How can Allah command us to do something, and our doing of that thing or leaving it be by His decree, and then He punishes us? They say this is injustice, and it is impossible for Allah. So it does not follow that our actions are... what? Independent? That Allah has no intervention in them? They call this justice. So what is built upon justice according to them?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Denying the divine decree regarding the action of the servant. And this justice is strange, because this justice entails lying to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. And is it just to lie to Allah and His messengers? Never. Good.
