(The refutation of the claim of the people of innovation that the indication of words is indicative of probability, which leads to abandoning all the words of people and their indications, and corrupting their worldly and religious affairs)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
"And by Allah, if what you have said were true *** the path of knowledge and faith would be cut off"
What did they say? They said that the words of the Book and the Sunnah, my brothers, are indicative of probability and do not provide certainty. If this were true, may Allah have mercy on him, he says:
"And by Allah, if what you have said were true *** the path of knowledge and faith would be cut off
For reason does not guide to their details *** but only what the two revelations brought"

Reason does not guide to the details of the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and His names; rather, what guides to that is only what the two revelations brought. So if we say that reason does not guide to their details, and that what the two revelations brought is only indicative of probability, then where is the creed? How can we build our creed on probability and illusion? Yes, for this reason he says: it corrupts everything.
"So there, it brought neither knowledge *** nor even probability, and this is the height of deprivation"
Yes, if we say what these people said: reason does not guide to the details, and the Qur'an and Sunnah do not indicate certainty, then we have no knowledge, nor even probability. Because what is contrary to the apparent meaning is the weaker position, and the weaker position is not even considered probable, let alone believed to be certainty. Yes, if this were true. Yes, so there.
The student: So if the details...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: So if the details...
